Kim Simmonds was inducted into Canadian South Blues Museum this month.
"I don't think it's quite sunk in," said Simmonds from his upstate New York home. "It's quite an honor."
Savoy Brown's first North American gig in the 1960's was in Canada.
The induction ceremony was hosted by Jim Crichton, a senior news anchor and was followed by a two hour performance by the band.
Canadian guitarist and award winner Johnny V joined the band for a blues jam at the end of the night, with Kim pulling out the blues classic "Ain't Superstitious."
Other inductees include Eric Burdon, B.B. King and Ray Charles |
